The following is a news release from the U.S. Maritime Administration (MarAd):

(WASHINGTON) — Do you know any women who worked at a shipyard or in the maritime industry during World War II? We at MarAd would love to know more.

As a part of our acknowledgement of Women's History Month and the impact of women in the maritime industry as a whole, we're asking for your help. If you know of a woman who contributed to the maritime industry and/or worked at one of our nation's shipyards during WWII, please send along their photos (current and, hopefully, one from while they were working) to us with a short narrative of their work. The email address for submission is below. We look forward to hearing all about the great work that these women have done.

Email submissions may be sent to maradsocialmedia@dot.gov.
