Delta Queen is tied up in North Little Rock on the Arkansas River during a 2007 visit.
(HOUMA, La.) — The new owners of the riverboat Delta Queen plan a $5 million overhaul as they await a federal waiver to allow the vessel to cruise again, Arkansas Online reported. The 88-year-old paddlewheeler has been idle since 2008 after losing an exemption from the ban on wooden vessels carrying passengers. A bill has been filed in Congress to grant a new exemption.
