Seacor Marine receives newest vessel, John Coghill

(HOUMA, LA — November 12, 2007) Seacor Marine announced today that it received delivery of its newest vessel, M/V John Coghill.

Named in honor of a retired Seacor Marine employee, John Coghill is a 265-ft. Anchor Handling Towing Supply vessel (AHTS) featuring an environmentally friendlier, lower emission diesel electric power plant and 10,750 total horsepower from four Caterpillar 3516 diesel engines. It also includes state-of-the art Furuno electronic systems, diesel electric drives, generators, switchboards and automation packages by Converteam and generous crew accommodations. The vessel was built in Mobile, AL, by Bender Shipbuilding and Repair.

The AHTS vessel will be used to deploy and recover mooring systems for deepwater drilling rigs in water depths ranging from 300 to 8,000 feet. A dynamic positioning system will enable John Coghill to maintain a fixed position in close proximity to a rig without the use of tie-up lines.
