Large tug-barge fully loaded with coal runs aground in Detroit River

(DETROIT) — A large integrated tug-barge carrying a full load of coal ran aground in the Detroit River, television station WZZM reported. The McKee Sons, being pushed by the tug Invincible in notch, got stuck in the mud on Christmas Eve. Five tugboats have responded to the incident, and the Coast Guard says they are planning to try to pull the massive vessel free before undertaking Plan B, which would require lightering.
