(PROVIDENCE, R.I.) — The federal government’s decision this week to approve the Cape Wind offshore wind farm off Massachusetts could boost the entire industry, the Providence Journal reported. The initial project would be a model for a future regulatory framework that would apply to other projects. The Deepwater Wind project in state waters off Block Island could be one beneficiary, and Rhode Island could play host to the wind turbine manufacturing.
