U.S. admiral: Mariners can use evasive measures to thwart pirates

(WASHINGTON) — A U.S. naval commander says there are evasive, not-violent measures that mariners can take to thwart a pirate boarding off Somalia, the New York Times reported. The admiral suggests that ship officers make rudder adjustments, vary speeds and pull up all ladders.
