Washington – The U.S. Coast Guard is soliciting applications for seven positions to the Towing Safety Advisory Committee. Applications must be received on or before March 30, 2007.

The current solicitation seeks applications for three representatives of the barge and towing industry, one from port districts, authorities, or terminal operators; one from maritime labor; and two from shippers. The 16-person membership also includes representatives of the offshore mineral and oil supply vessel industry and the general public. To be eligible, applicants should have particular expertise, knowledge, and experience in towing operations, marine transportation, or business operations associated with shallow-draft inland and coastal waterway navigation and towing safety.
