Seattle Maritime Academy blossoms with new building, dock refit

(SEATTLE) — While funding for many educational institutions is declining, Seattle Maritime Academy is a notable exception, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper reported. The academy is putting up an $18.3 million building. Its docks have undergone a refit project and it possesses several donated training vessels. Enrollment has reached 35 students, and officials project an increase to about 50.
