Intoxicated tug captain arrested after plowing into fishing boat

(DULAC, La.) — A tugboat captain was charged with operating the vessel while intoxicated after he allegedly passed out in the wheelhouse and smashed into docked fishing boat, the Daily Comet newspaper of Thibodaux reported. His pushboat, the Trey Paul, was propelling two barges loaded with oilfield equipment when it ran into a mud bank and struck the other vessel. The captain was charged with second-offense intoxicated operation and possession of the controlled sleep medication Zaliphen.
