(KIRKLAND, Wash.) — At this year’s NMEA Marine Electronics Conference and Expo, Icom will be showcasing its newest VHF marine transceiver, the M510. With the M510 on board, conveniently command and control wirelessly, all from your smart device. Icom will be at Booth 15 at the Doubletree Orlando Hotel at Universal in Orlando, Fla., from Sept. 20-24.

Icom’s newest fixed-mount marine VHF transceiver was designed to bring communication to life. The 3.5-inch LCD color display provides a wide viewing angle for supreme readability, even in low light with night mode. Front and back connection ports allow an additional wired station using a COMMANDMIC.

This radio is a powerhouse tough enough for the commercial market yet refined for the recreational boater. Receive AIS signals (AIS version only) to see surrounding vessel traffic in real-time and directly make individual DSC calls to selected targets. At almost half the depth of the M506, installation options are wide open. With the optional CT-M500 interface box, gain NMEA2000 connectivity and the two-way hailer/foghorn function.

The CT-M500 connects to the M510 wirelessly, keeping installation flexible for up to three smart devices through the RS-M500 iOS/Android app. Other features include built-in GPS, loud and clear audio, simplified navigation function, active noise canceling, IP68 waterproof rating, Icom’s own AquaQuake, and much more.

The 2021 NMEA Conference & Expo is a global industry trade event focusing on marine electronics from recreational, commercial and government sectors. Events include a two-day expo where manufacturers introduce new products for 2022. Manufacturers will offer technical training sessions during the week on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The NMEA Product of Excellence Awards Banquet will take place on Thursday evening, Sept. 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
