EBDG completes well stimulation vessel contract design

The design of a well stimulation vessel for ONGC.

(SEATTLE, WA — November 21, 2007) Elliot Bay Design Group has completed the design phase of a contract awarded by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) of India in early 2007. EBDG will provide consultancy to the company for the design, construction and delivery of a well stimulation vessel.

The state-of-the-art design provides for high-pressure pumping operations and storage facilities with various blends of chemicals, flow back facility and burner boom. It also features a helicopter deck and three cranes. With an overall length of 114.5 meters, beam of 20 meters, depth of 9 meters and draft of 6.5 meters, the vessel will travel up to 15 knots in still water.

The new vessel is designed to provide advanced offshore well stimulation operations while under DP Class 2 functions in open ocean environments in the Arabian Sea offshore India.
