Canadian Navy woman honored for role in pirate capture (PHOTO)

(RED DEER, Alberta) — A Canadian Navy officer has been awarded a commendation for her role in capturing pirates in the Gulf of Aden, the Red Deer Advocate newspaper reported. Red Deer native Lt. Nicole Robichaud received the Chief of Defence Staff Commendation. She was officer of the watch when the HMCS Winnipeg protected a World Food Program ship and its personnel boarded a pirate boat.
