(VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — The trustees of the Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship Trust have announced the award of scholarships for 2020 to Jalayna Frost and Kyle Gerrard.

Frost, of British Columbia, is currently in her fourth year in the bachelor of applied science, thermofluids specialization program at the University of British Columbia.

Gerrard, also of British Columbia, is in his fourth year in the bachelor of applied science in integrated engineering program at the University of British Columbia.

Both Frost and Gerrard have ambitions to pursue long-term careers in the marine industry and have been participating in work-term internships with local companies.

The Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship Trust was initiated in 1982 from a bequest by the late Robert F. Allan, with support from his many industry friends and colleagues and recently has been augmented significantly by the company. The scholarship awards are intended to support Canadian students following a career in naval architecture and/or marine engineering and are awarded annually to the student or students considered most deserving by the applications committee. Applications are considered on their individual merit.

The trust is administered by a committee of senior employees at Robert Allan Ltd.
