MetalCraft, subsidiary Stanley deliver pair of fireboats

(KINGSTON, Ontario) — MetalCraft Marine and subsidiary Stanley Boats have delivered a pair of fireboats to operators in Georgia and Costa Rica.

A 34-by-10-foot landing craft and fireboat was recently delivered to the Costa Rica Fire Department (El Benemerito Cuerpo de Bomberos de Costa Rica). The boat will be used in and around the Tortuguero Station to provide fire protection to the small town and its eco-lodges scattered along the canal.

Equipment includes a Darley PSDE 1,500-gpm fire pump; an Akron Apollo monitor with quick release; and twin 150-hp Yamaha outboards. Top speed is 40 knots.

The foredeck is sized to fit a Kawasaki Mule with its own pumping capability. The aft deck is designed to carry 10 people under the covered roof for means of medical support or evacuation. The boat also features LED lighting, hydraulic bow ramp, side scan sonar and trailer.

A Stanley 26 Bullnose fireboat was delivered to the Forsyth County (Ga.) Fire Department. The 26-by-10-foot boat has a hydraulic bow gate with integrated fold-out dive platform. A Darley PSDE fire pump can provide 1,500 gpm.

Propulsion comes from a 300-hp Yamaha engine providing a top speed of over 36 knots at 5,800 rpm.
