(FRANKLIN, La.) — Gulf Craft LLC has delivered its first EPA Tier 4-compliant vessel, the whale-watch boat Dolphin XI, to Dolphin Fleet of Provincetown, Mass.
The aluminum monohull is 114-by-25 feet, with a 9.5-foot molded depth and 5-foot draft. Dolphin XI, which was also designed by Gulf Craft, can accommodate 360 passengers with a five-person crew.
Propulsion is provided by three Caterpillar C32 Tier 4 diesel engines connected to Michigan Wheel propellers through Twin Disc MGX-6650 SC gears. Service speed is 30 knots at 2,100 rpm.
Two Caterpillar C4.4 75-kW gensets provide ship service power. Twin Disc provided the controls and Skipper provided the steering system.
The electronics package includes an Icom RC-25 transmitter, M802 receiver, and VHF radios. Furuno provided a GP-33 GPS, FA1702 AIS, and a pair of TZTI15F chartplotters. Camera equipment includes a Hatteland CCTV monitor and DVR.
Dolphin XI is U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter K certified.
