(NORTHPORT, Mich.) — The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating after an anchored tugboat sank in Northport Harbor and spilled oil, the Traverse City Record Eagle reported.

Coast Guard watch standers received a call shortly after 7:50 a.m. Tuesday and discovered an oil sheen around the 33-foot Rawhide. Boom was deployed to contain the discharge, according to Lt. Sean Murphy.

The tug reportedly had been anchored for two or three weeks before sinking after a night of high winds. No one was on board at the time.
