Ozinga hires James Dillman as VP, general managerSep 4, 2018 09:14 AM
(MOKENA, Ill.) — Ozinga recently hired James Dillman as vice president and general manager of the company’s Middle River Marine and Terminal business. His executive level experience in the marine industry coupled with his extensive background in terminal and port management throughout the Great Lakes, U.S. Gulf, East and West coasts, and international ports will accelerate Ozinga’s growth at and beyond its current nine terminal and port operations.
Dillman, a retired U.S. Naval Reserves commander, received a degree from U.S. Merchant Marine Academy before becoming a stevedore superintendent. Throughout his career, he was the former CEO of Diversified Port Holdings, COO of Lake and River Logistics, and president of Metro Ports. His career has included operating in over 12 countries in addition to his work on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf coasts. His experience spans the management of 21 shipping ports, stevedore operations, and international vessel operations as well as interactions with various port authorities around the world.
During his career, Dillman was instrumental in streamlining processes focusing on stevedore safety. This resulted in lower TIRR rates than industry standards. He also handled contracts across many channels within the maritime industry.
“We are excited to have Jim on board as we continue to expand Ozinga’s terminal and marine business,” said Ed Van Poucke, chief operating officer of Ozinga Materials & Logistics. “His experience and background, skills, and networks across the industry will add great value to the OML operations.”Edit Module
