(SALALAH, Oman) — A week after a fatal fire on one of Maersk Line's newly built containerships, another fire broke out aboard a vessel owned and operated by the Danish shipping giant's U.S. subsidiary, the Handy Shipping Guide reported.

In the latest incident on March 15, the U.S.-flagged Maersk Kensington reported a container on fire in a cargo hold while en route from Salalah, Oman, to Suez. All 26 crewmembers were reported safe and the fire was contained by the release of CO2 into the hold.

The cause of the container fire is unknown. On March 6, goods below deck caught fire on Maersk Honam, resulting in the death of five crewmembers.

Maersk Kensington anchored outside the Port of Salalah and received assistance from shore. The ship was carrying 3,518 containers (corresponding to 5,616 TEU).
