Furuno introduces 'Hi-Brite' multi-touch monitors

J

(CAMAS, Wash.) — Furuno has introduced a new line of "Hi-Brite" multi-touch marine monitors, offering state-of-the-art brilliance and sensitivity for Furuno TZtouch and TZtouch2 Black Box systems. The new series of professional-grade multi-touch monitors includes the 17-inch MU175T, 19-inch MU195T, and the 24-inch, wide aspect ratio MU245T.

The MU175T/195T/245T multi-touch monitors complete both the NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 Black Box systems. These monitors offer an edge-to-edge glass design, as well as incorporating glass display controls with no physical buttons or switches, giving any bridge or helm a stylish appearance. Each of these monitors utilizes Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT, also PCAP) technology to provide responsive sensitivity, as well as employing extremely bright TFT active-matrix LCD and LED backlight technology.

The MU175T/195T/245T "Hi-Brite" monitors have brilliance levels of 1,000 candela and are also fully dimmable, so night vision will not be affected by the gray glow that is commonly experienced with off-the-shelf monitors. The LCD and glass are bonded together to ensure fog-free operation, and the displays have an IP66 (front) and IP22 (rear) waterproof rating, making them true marine-grade monitors.

Multiple inputs allow the user to display information from virtually any video source. Adjustable picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes ensure all critical information will be within view. Full glass display controls include the ability to customize two "hot keys" on the display, with an updated touchscreen interface for faster response. With dual power source capability, all of these monitors can automatically switch power sources without interruption.
