(NEW ORLEANS) — Conley Marine Services (CMS) of New Orleans has announced the acquisition of Kody Marine located on the Harvey Canal in metro New Orleans. The sale includes all business and physical assets of Kody Marine.
Conley Marine Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Department of Defense contractor Conley Associates Inc., engineers Subchapter M compliance and maintenance provisioning for the United States inland towing industry. CMS has offices in New Orleans, St. Louis, Mo., and Newport News, Va.
CMS plans to invest in the yard’s 3-plus-acre physical plant by upgrading the machine shop, tool room, dockside moorings, paint shed, carpenter shop and project management offices. The yard has a 1,000-ton dry dock and two 100-ton cranes. Conley’s ISO 9001-2015 program will be adopted for yard quality control with oversight from Conley’s team of quality experts.
The new facility will be branded Conley Marine Maintenance & Repair. The transaction is expected to be complete by September.
