Coast Guard Foundation announces annual service tribute in DC

The following is text of a news release from the Coast Guard Foundation:

(STONINGTON, Conn.) — The Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, has announced that its 14th annual Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Our Nation’s Capital will take place on Tuesday, June 5 in Washington, D.C.
 
The theme for this year’s event is “Heroes of the Storm.” The event will be dedicated to recognizing Coast Guard heroism during 2017 hurricane rescue, response and relief efforts, as well as recognizing the Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA). Vice Adm. Karl Schultz, the current nominee to become the 26th commandant of the Coast Guard, will deliver keynote remarks. Frank and Carly Fiorina, philanthropists, will serve as honorary dinner chairpeople.
 
The event will be hosted by John Roberts, the chief White House correspondent for FOX News Channel and Kyra Phillips, ABC correspondent.
 
The Coast Guard Foundation’s Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Our Nation’s Capital will be held at the National Building Museum, 440 G Street NW, Washington, D.C. A cocktail reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and program following at 7:30 p.m.
