(KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii) — The dive vessels Amelia and Johan, 32-by-13-foot high-tunnel catamarans, recently arrived in Honokohau Harbor on the Big Island. Aquatic Life Divers selected Armstrong Marine to build the two vessels in 2018. They worked with Pacific Boats and Yachts, Armstrong Marine’s agent in Hawaii, throughout the project.

Twin Yamaha 300-hp outboards, paired with SeaStar steering, power each vessel. The 16-passenger U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter T dive boats also feature flybridge helm stations, dive tank racks, head packages, custom storage tables for camera equipment and dive weights, fresh water showers, Garmin navigation, and vinyl wrap.

Aquatic Life Divers is looking forward to debuting the vessels at a grand opening party on Nov. 3 in Honokohau Harbor. In addition to providing scuba and snorkel charters, Amelia and Johan will support Aquatic Life Divers’ participation in the Reef Check Worldwide EcoDiver program, which combines education with action to give volunteers a unique experience while taking an active role in conserving the world's reefs.
