Texas OSV crewman breaks arm, leg in fall

The following is the text of a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard:

(HOUSTON) — A Coast Guard boat crew medevaced a 45-year-old man from an offshore supply vessel 14 miles off the Texas Point Wildlife Refuge on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., Sector Houston-Galveston watch standers received a report from the 120-foot boat Poppa John stating a crewmember fell and broke a leg and an arm and was experiencing extreme pain.

Watch standers launched a Station Sabine 45-foot response boat crew with an EMT aboard to meet the vessel as it got closer to shore.

Once the man was transferred to the response boat, he was taken to Station Sabine where EMS was waiting.

He was reported in stable condition.
