Tank barge adrift south of Nantucket

(NANTUCKET, Mass.) — A 400-foot tank barge was adrift 45 miles southeast of Nantucket on Tuesday after its tugboat lost the tow, The Inquirer and Mirror reported. The U.S. Coast Guard said the tug Dolphin was attempting to re-establish the tow and that there were two people on the barge, which is carrying fuel oil. A Coast Guard spokeswoman said the barge's shackle and chain pendant broke at about 7 a.m.
