(BELLA BELLA, British Columbia) — Booms containing a fuel spill from a sunken tug broke apart in high winds and gale-force winds Friday, the Vancouver Sun reported. Officials said cleanup crews worked over the weekend to replace sections of boom around the ATB tug Nathan E. Stewart, which ran aground and sank Oct. 13 off British Columbia’s central coast. It is uncertain how much fuel has spilled from the Kirby Corp. tug, which had up to 60,000 gallons on board.
