(SEATTLE) — Seattle Maritime Academy has opened a new 24,000-square-foot facility that features full-mission bridge and engine room simulators, the Ballard News-Tribune reported. The academy held a christening ceremony last week that was attended by maritime industry professionals, educators and state dignitaries. The new simulators, installed in a partnership between the academy and Foss Maritime, will be available to students and to outside companies that reserve time to use the equipment.
