The following is the text of a news release from the Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies-Pacific Maritime Institute (MITAGS-PMI):
(LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md.) — MITAGS-PMI has published the gap-closing training course schedule through March 2017.
By Jan. 1, 2017, licensed mariners and Naval Reserve Strategic Sealift officers must comply with STCW Manila Amendments 2010, and the USCG Final Rules. Additional training is now required. You must submit your gap-closing training certificates to the National Maritime Center on or before Dec. 31, 2016, to maintain valid endorsements.
