El Faro captain told company 'the clock is ticking' — with AUDIO of captain's final radio communciations

 

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) — The captain of El Faro reported a hull breach and a "pretty good list" and urgently said "the clock is ticking" during his final calls to his company's officials ashore, according to audio posted on the website of televlsion station WOKV. Capt. Michael Davidson reported that seawater had flowed into three holds and the main engine wasn't working, and the ro-ro ship was listing 15 degrees. The audio was played Saturday during an investigative hearing on the disaster that killed 33 people.
