EdgeTech appoints Erik Anderson as hydrographic product engineer

(WEST WAREHAM, Mass.) — EdgeTech, a leader in high resolution sonar imaging systems and underwater technology, recently announced that Erik Anderson has joined the company. Previously with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Coast Survey, Anderson brings extensive hydrographic expertise to the organization. With a bachelor of science degree in ocean engineering from Florida Atlantic University, master of science in hydrography and Category “A” international hydrographic certification, Anderson joins the team as hydrographic product engineer based in the company’s Boca Raton, Fla., office.  

EdgeTech continues to expand its bathymetric product offerings and has seen growth in both the 6205 boat/pole-mount systems and the 2205 AUV and USV-based combined side-scan sonar and MPES bathymetry systems. Anderson has more than 10 years of experience in the field of marine surveying working with equipment such as side-scan sonars, single beam and multibeam sonar systems. While at NOAA his roles included planning, acquisition and processing of important survey data. He ultimately held a lead hydrographic position overseeing the review and sign-off of approximately 20 official NOAA hydrographic survey projects. As part of EdgeTech, Anderson will provide important hydrographic expertise as the company continues to grow its bathymetric and sonar offerings.
