Canadian bulker grounds in Seaway after mechanical failure

(SUMMERSTOWN, Ontario) — A Canadian bulk carrier ran aground Tuesday in the St. Lawrence Seaway after a mechanical failure, North Country Public Radio reported. Tugboats from Montreal were dispatched to help refloat Whitefish Bay on Thursday morning at Hamilton Island, just downriver from Cornwall. The ship was carrying coal product; no injuries or pollution were reported.
