BC Ferries' first LNG-powered newbuild delayed at Polish yard

(VICTORIA, British Columbia) — BC Ferries has announced a delivery delay for a Polish-made newbuild powered by liquefied natural gas, CFAX 1070 News reported. Salish Orca is the first of three new intermediate-class vessels being built by Remontowa Shipbuilding. It was scheduled to be delivered this month, but is now expected by the end of the year. A BC Ferries spokeswoman said the review process for the LNG-powered ship has required more time than expected.
