(JUNEAU, Alaska) — A World War II-era tugboat that was being restored sank Saturday afternoon in Gastineau Channel, the Juneau Empire reported. The U.S. Coast Guard responded and marked the wreck of the 96-foot Challenger with a buoy and a blinking light on the vessel's mast. Challenger served the U.S. Army in the 1940s and was once a "bunk and breakfast" on Seattle's Lake Union.
