Marine Exchange of Puget Sound to host 'Shipping 101'

The following is the text of a news release from the Marine Exchange of Puget Sound:

(SEATTLE) — The Marine Exchange of Puget Sound is planning the next class convening for the Global Commerce-International Transportation and Trade Course (also known as "Shipping 101"). Dates are yet to be determined, however, the exchange is considering Dec. 14-18. The likely location will be the Marine Exchange of Puget Sound unless the number and location of those registered suggests a different venue.

If you are interested in this taking this course, please submit a registration form. There will be no charges until a class is confirmed; invoices will be sent at that time to those who registered.  Payment must be made before the class convenes.

This course was previously presented in Seattle in May 2013, March 2014 and July 2015.

This five-day intensive course covers the material you need to know and understand to effectively trade and ship in the global marketplace. The course includes the evolution of international trade and transportation, all critical work processes, compliance requirements and different modes of transportation. This course will enhance your competitiveness in the global marketplace as a seller, buyer or service provider.

The course includes a text book, work book, shipping geography and a tour of the port's container and intermodal facilities. CEU credit is available.
