Irving cuts steel on Canada's first Arctic patrol ship

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) — Irving Shipbuilding has started construction of Canada's first Arctic offshore patrol ship, CTV News reported. In January, Irving was awarded a $2.3 billion contract for six of the vessels. The first will be named after Vice Adm. Harry DeWolf, a distinguished World War II sailor, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
