Barge sinks after hitting Miss. lock and dam

(COLUMBUS, Miss.) — One of two barges that broke free and hit the John C. Stennis Lock and Dam during the weekend sunk on Monday morning, WCBI News reported. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said the barge, operated by Tom Sawyer Grain, was restricting flow through the gates. A third barge that broke loose did not strike the lock and dam.
