Shell hires drillship for 2015 exploration off Nova Scotia

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) — Shell Canada has contracted for Stena IceMax, a deepwater drillship, to explore for petroleum off the coast of Nova Scotia, The Chronicle Herald reported. The 748-foot Arctic-class vessel features a fully automated drilling system and GPS positioning technology. It is currently drilling for Shell in the Gulf of Mexico.
