World's first MCV sails for Gulf of Mexico

(DUBAI, United Arab Emirates) — Drydocks World announced on Tuesday that the world’s first modular capture vessel (MCV) sailed from its shipyard bound for the Gulf of Mexico, Dubai Media Inc. reported. Eagle Texas is a converted Aframax tanker, the first of two MCV projects completed for Singapore-based AET. The MCVs will operate in the gulf as part of an agreement with the Marine Well Containment Co., a consortium of 10 major oil companies.
