With all eyes on the Arctic, Alaska school will offer ice navigation class

(SEWARD, Alaska) — Expanding Arctic development has given rise to an ice navigation class that will be offered through the Alaska Vocational Technical Center, the Alaska Dispatch reported. The U.S. Coast Guard has approved the structure of the class, which recognizes that mariners trained to operate in ice-filled waters will be in demand as more companies look to operate in the region. The class initially will be offered to a team of industry professionals for peer review.
