(PORTLAND, Maine) — A water taxi carrying passengers back to the mainland after an island wedding collided with a pleasure boat Saturday night in Portland Harbor, injuring seven people, the Portland Press Herald reported. U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree of Maine, who was among the six passengers aboard the taxi, was unhurt. Alcohol tests administered to the boat operators were negative, but the Coast Guard is investigating whether proper lights and safety equipment were being used at the time of the incident.
