Rig manager: Kulluk tow should have used a second tugboat

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) — A Noble manager on the scene during the ill-fated Kulluk tow now says the job needed two tugboats instead of one, the Anchorage Daily News newspaper reported. The statement came during testimony in a Coast Guard formal hearing, part of the probe of the Alaska grounding. The towing crew also created a hazard by dropping anchor by mistake.
