Company has already spent $1B on the river cleanup
(ALBANY, N.Y.) -- A day after it began its fourth year of Hudson River dredging, General Electric may agree to a wider cleanup program, Bloomberg News reported. The company, which is cleaning up PCBs from the river, is in talks with state officials to expand the program. GE already has spent over $1 billion on the cleanup after it dumped as much as 1.3 million pounds of carcinogens into the river over a period of three decades.
