(CASTINE, Maine) — Maine Maritime Academy will celebrate the life of Susan J. Clark by dedicating the academy's 70-foot navigation training vessel in her name, the Penobscot Bay Pilot reported. Clark was a 1985 MMA graduate, the first female captain employed by Exxon and the first female harbor pilot in Portland, Maine. She died last year at age 48 after battling cancer.
