Ingram Barge, Vanderbilt working to help pilots sleep better

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — A partnership between Ingram Barge and Vanderbilt University Medical Center is helping to identify and remedy sleep deficit among Ingram's pilots, the Nashville Scene reported. In the initial study, 16 pilots with a body mass index of 40 or higher all tested positive for sleep apnea, which can lead to fatigue — and potentially to public safety problems.
