Empty cruise ship adrift near Newfoundland after towline snapped

(ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland) — An empty cruise ship is drifting near oil platforms off the coast of Newfoundland after a towline broke between the derelict ship and a tugboat, CTV reported. The Lyubov Orlova is adrift about 25 miles from one platform, and a supply vessel has been sent to monitor the ship's movements. The tugboat Charlene Hunt was towing the 300-foot cruise ship from St. John's to the Dominican Republic to be scrapped when the towline snapped in rough weather last week.
