(MOBILE, Ala.) — Carnival Triumph has a 20-foot gash in its stern after slamming into an Army Corps dredge when the cruise ship went adrift, the Press-Register newspaper and Alabama Live reported. Triumph broke loose from its moorings at a ship repair yard when 66 mph winds struck the Mobile area, and it struck the dredge Wheeler, which was being repaired nearby, before tugboats secured Triumph. One shipyard worker was still missing after the winds blew a guard shack into the water, in an incident that officials say was not related to the Triumph breaking loose but happened at the same time.
