Cargo ship crew hospitalized with chemical burns after leak

(WILMINGTON, N.C.) — Four crewmembers aboard a Norwegian cargo ship were sent to the hospital after they were burned in a chemical leak, the Star News newspaper reported. The incident occurred before the Star Fraser arrived in Wilmington. Authorities said the crew were sickened after an onboard spill involving a chemical used in the production of adhesives, and the spill was contained earlier but they went to the hospital in lingering effects.
