Witnesses: Plume of smoke was coming from Benjamin Bailey

(PORTSMOUTH, N.H.) -- Two crewmembers needed to escape through a window and jump to a barge when a tugboat sank, the Portsmouth Herald newspaper reported. It was the second serious maritime casualty this year at the Memorial Bridge replacement project.
