Morrow Pacific project construction would create hundreds of shipyard jobs
(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) -- The backers of the Morrow Pacific coal mining project have agreed to pay $75 million to Gunderson Marine and Vigor Industry for the construction of 20 barges, contract that would create hundreds of jobs, the business news website Sustainable Business Oregon reported. Gunderson would get $55 million of the work and Vigor would be awarded $20 million of the job. The agreement is contingent upon the project winning the financing and permits it needs to go forward.
