New York Water Taxi begins temporary Staten Island fast ferry service

(STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.) — A temporary eight-week fast ferry service has begun linking Staten Island to Manhattan, NY1 reported. The New York Water Taxi service leaves from Great Kills, on the south shore of Staten Island. It is making six roundtrips daily during a period when commuting from Staten Island remains difficult after Hurricane Sandy damaged rail and other infrastructure.
