NYC seeks bid for temporary fast ferry serving Staten Island

(NEW YORK) — New York City is seeking bids for a temporary fast ferry between Staten Island and Manhattan, the New York Daily News newspaper reported. The special ferry service would run from a new dock in Staten Island's Great Kills section, which is in Lower New York Bay below the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. The vessel would aid commuters in coastal neighborhoods hardest-hit by Hurricane Sandy.
